I lived at Red Lake for 22 yrs - fishing always great - caught mud puppy when I was young - big muskies were there. Can go right into the Indian River also.

I fished Red Lake 2000-2002 and caught more than my share of large and small mouth bass. Some were of very large size. All fish were catch and released. I did catch one large walleye and it fed four people a delicious supper. The lake is small. One tip: when dark clouds are above one has about 3 minutes to get off the water! It gets rough out there. I hope to return to Red Lake in '09. I found the best bait there to be white grubs.
