I grew up fishing the streams around North Branch. Sneaking up to the Gossweyler dam after sunset was a rite of passage (it was posted and they were serious about keeping kids out). The spillway was about 12 ft wide and the water on it was about 16 inches deep. After catching a few big trout (they all seemed to be 16-18 inches up there) we'd walk around on the spillway -- we'd see some huge trout there! Also got my introduction to smoking at Gossweyler's -- rum soaked Crooks! They guy I usually went up there with was Roger Ebert. I fished this spot in the middle 1950's -- the trip date text block wou't accept that, so just subtract 50 years....
