Not the best fishing. Didn't catch a thing on any of our several trips. We got some nibbles... it might have been lakeweed. We saw lots of little fish though so maybe we just needed different lures. Local rumor says there should be largemouth and perch among other species. Recreational powerboats are more than mildly annoying when they are there because the lake really isn't big enough for them to do anything but laps.

I fished this lake quite a bit back in 1999 and 2000 when I lived there. The fishing can be tough at times, and is almost impossible without a boat. The lake does have a great selection though (sunnies, yellow perch, rock bass, pickerel, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and brown trout). The fishing is best at sunset and decent at sunrise, but other than these two times it's a crapshoot. Using live minnows is your best bet, but .5 ounce rattle traps work ok too. Not the worst place to fish by any means.

It is a shame to see a poor ranking for what was once a great fishing lake. I grew up on the lake and, back in the 80s, it wasnt unusual to catch Rainbow trout in the 3-6 lb range, decent Largemouth, perch, and pickeral. My personal opinion is that the DEC ruined the lake by placing a boatramp and opening it up to anyone who has a powerboat (prior to that the only powerboats were maybe 3 property owners around the lake, everything else was trolling motor). I havent fished there in 10 yrs, but tempted to go back and try it.
