The last few years there has been a weed problem in the lake. Every year the lake committee sprays the lake to kill the weeds. This causes dead weeds which float to the top and get tangled in boat props and fishing lines. It also creates a very unhealthy ecosystem. About 10 years ago it wasn't uncommon to haul up 20 largemouth in a day with a 4 pounder in there among the average 2 and even 3 pounders. Now you are lucky if you catch a bass. I know how to fish. There is also a bad overpopulation of turtles that do nothing but steal your bait. Contrary to popular belief among the residents, there aren't any crappie in the lake. They are just good sized bluegill or even pumpkin seeds that have been in deep water and the pigment in their scales have faded to look more silver like a crappie. How you mistake a bluegill's mouth for a crappie's, I have no idea. I fish about every day in the summer.

We've owned property on Cinnamon Lake since the year it opened in 1970. Over the years, it has become a very good lake for fishing. Bass, crappy, bluegill and perch are plentiful. It is not a public lake. You must be accompanied by a land or homeowner to fish it.
