This is a private lake and only property owners may fish it, but that makes it a great lake. It does not get over fished. I go out about 40 times a year and i will only get blanked maybe once, spending at least 2 hours at it. There are also touramnets on this lake, but again you must be a member. The best lake i have fished for a good time and to catch some fish.

Apple Valley lake is a private lake. Apple Valley is only 60 minutes northeast of Columbus or 90 minutes south west of Akron. Apple Valley is a gorgeous 511 acre private lake. Our community has 3 beaches, 2 club houses, indoor pool, outdoor pool, tennis courts, fitness room and a public golf course. Our lake averages 30ft in depth. Most of the lakes in this area average only 5ft to 10ft. Our lake was man made for recreational use. It was made for you and I, not for flood control or for water use. We are dam contolled and stay full throughout the summer. We also have a full service marina with gas pumps. Some lakes do not have a gas pumps and you have to haul your own gas. We have all public utilities. This lake is absolutly beautiful. Apple Valley Lake is a premier fishing lake. Many species can be caught such as large and small mouth bass, stripped bass, walleye, perch, crappie, shell cracker, cat fish and blue gill. The lake was originally stocked in 1974 with walleye, brown trout, rainbow. Since that time the Fish Club and the Property Owners Association have had specks stocked to cross breed with the crappie and striped bass have also been introduced to the fish population. Walleye is still the prize catch and is stocked every year in large numbers up to 35,000 fingerings in a single year thanks to fish club fund raising activities such as the Annual Buddy Bass Tournament. Knox county is a beautiful rural area. Gorgeous rolling hills and farms. Apple Valley lake and community sits in the middle of it all. Within 6 miles is the little town of Mt Vernon. A very cute and historical area. Fun little shops in the downtown area complete with book stores, crafts and Coffee Shops. The newer downtown has a Walmart, Pennys, KMart, Peebles, Movie theater, gorcery and plenty of restaurants. Within a mile of Apple Valley is the beautiful Kokosing Gap Trail. A walking, biking trail the runs near the Kokosing river.
