Overall, fishing is ok now but used to be much better. A number of "fisherman" have been catching and keeping largemouth bass that have met the 15 inch size limit. I wish more people would practice catch and release as this could be a really great bass fishery. Caught one bass on my last trip in about 4 hrs!!!!!!

I spent the day out there mapping it with my fish finder. Most of it was 15-20 ft deep. Bowl shaped with little or no structure. The east side of the lake was open so I couldn't map it. Plenty of ice everywhere else. Along the west side of the lake closer to shore the water is 7-10 ft deep. there is an area aprox 200 ft south of the pump house that is 17-19 ft deep just 20 ft rom shore. That was the biggest drop I could find. I did not mark ANY fish but I only kept my fish finder in each hole for about 10 min then moved on. It used to be great fishing for crappie and decent for channel cat. Medina City ruined it because it was thier water source. Soon ater ruining it, they started buying the water from Avon City and quit using it. Could be a great fishery if managed properly. Could maintain walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish if taken care of. It's just a hole with water in it now. It's to bad they can get a stocking program going. Maybe even put in a boat launch with boat size limits and just electric motors.

A friend of mine told me about Lake Medina and how he had such a good time there. So I decided to go there as it is only 7 miles from my house, and the fish at North Park just are not as diverse as I would like them to be. Anyway, upon getting there and getting my line in the water, I proceded to hook over 10 fish in the space of about 2 hours give or take 20 minutes. Im sure weather conditions are relevant here so I will state them. It was in the upper 60s, cloudy, winds were blowing 10 to 15MPH WSW west southwest. Water was choppy, but not so choppy that bites were unnoticable. The only thing I regret is that I dont have a boat so I cant get to the deeper depths of water where bigger fish are. Oh yeah, water was clear. I could see the underbrush in certain locations not to far from the shore. I hope everyone finds this comment useful.

Lot's of negative comments, but I find Largemouth fishing is decent. My biggest from there is a hefty 3#er. All lakes this size have a few lunkers, but you can definitely have a fun day catching a bunch of small and medium ones. I agree this would be a real good fishery if Medina invested a little money into stocking. It could also use better structure underwater. I dont have much luck crankin' here. Perhaps the bass have seen it done too many times, because throwing a crankbait here is made easier due to the lack of underwater structure. I have much more luck with the jig-n-pig and wacky worm presentations. Not one on a spinner there yet. Lot's of people don't like Hinckley either. I have good luck there as well...Hope this is helpfull. Please CATCH AND RELEASE.
