I started fishing this lake at the age of 12 in 1961.I have many fond memories about this place. My only son who is now 39,has been to this lake with me many times. The lake sets in an ancient old growth fir forest, that is a sight to see,and one that you will never forget.Since the old "snow Peak" road access has been closed, you must access it by going up the yellowstone access road above green peter reservoir above sweet home .Is't a steep hike down to the lake for an old guy like me,and even steeper coming out,but well worth every step.Take a good 5 weight rod,and a collection of wooly buggers,or maybe some fresh perrywinkles that you can pick up on the way up on the santiam river above the green petter reservoir.Big fish in this lake are very spooky,so wear good colors, and put the sneak on the lake. You won't be dissapointed with the results,or the adventure.Good Luck
