The easiest way to get to Cochran pond (the mill pond of a lumber ghost town site) is Cochran Road, running west out of the town of Timber. The road had a major, catastrophic washout in Dec of 2007. As of June 26th, 2008, the road is still impassable. The washout is more than 70 feet long and 25 feet deep. It may be possible to reach Cochran pond coming from the North on logging roads, or from the west, but Cochran Rd. is a no-go.
