Me and a friend decided to try for trout today, not checking the stocking report. We didn't even get a hit. I fished the top and he fished the bottom. We fished to dark. There was a lot of ice on the lake but it was fishable. We checked the stocking repaor, only to fine that they didn't stock this for winter. The next stocking is the end of Jan.

I have been fishing Brady's Run Lake for years and have always enjoyed taking my family. Yesterday however my daughter and I nearly stepped on a nest of Copperhead's. I would guess there were at least 30-40 snakes in a brush pile near the lake. Luckily I heard the leaves rustle before my daughter walked past the brush. I would recommend the lake but the amount of snakes near the shore over the past two years is growing. I would not recommend taking small children fishing near the shore line unless your are constantly at their side. We have contacted the Game Commission but what can be done remains to be seen.

Concerned Parent, I am sure you stumbled upon Northern Water snakes in the brush pile and not Northern Copperheads. I am not trying to disrespect you in any way but, most people do misidentify these animals due to similar but not so similar markings. I am from Beaver County and am an avid reptile enthusiast. I own several species of snakes. For years I have been searching places where people have "spotted Copperheads" only tho have found water snakes. I have never found a Copperhead Specimen in Brady's Run but, I have seen plenty of Northern Water Snakes.
