Very difficult lake to fish if your a shore fisherman. Limited access to best shoreline. More access roads needed to get to more fishing areas. IT is a nice lake to fish. Why they never went to a 25HP motor limit beats me. Whe a storm brews up you need to find shelter quick if on a boat. If you do not have a boat good luck and a long wooland walk to access holes.

For all the shore line I think 42 miles 20 Hp is dangerous is a storm brews up. The fish commission needs some new brains. Half the lake should be unlimited

Trying to find a spot along the shoreline is horrible unless you plan on hiking thru the woods. Please--we need more access points

I am a Butler local who fishes at Lake Arthur quite often. If your thinking about fishing Lake Arthur the best fishing is early June for Hybrid Stripers. The best time is during the middle of the night, find a flat and catch some alweifes its a local bait fish you'll need a cast or seine net. You'll here the wipers slappin they are easy to find. Fish the alweifes weight less and hang on. If your out at night its a good channel cat lake to and if you can find Muddy Creek by the spill way, ask around, there are a lot of nice muskies. Hope this helps your trip.
