Yes i fished the octoraro lake i lived less than 3 miles from it growing up. This lake has great fishing ,blue gills, crappie, pumkin seeds, bull head catfish, channel catfish, walley, carp, northern pike.tiger muskies, small mouth and large mouth bass, perch. The crappie fishing is great in spring, these fish can be caught almost anywhere there are brush in water close to dropoffs of 3 feet or better. Some places to try are across the road at boat ramp,472 at bridge, and 2nd bridge past boat ramp.small white twister tails, small feather jigs, and fat head minnows 12 to 18 inches below small bober.cat fishing is realy fun in late summer early fall at night on left hand side just as you get to lake on 472 heading south chiken livers put on the hook or put in nylons not you wifes or mothers new ones this will cause trouble. take a small piece of nylons about 3 inches round put chicken liver inside then twist put hook threw nylons at twist you can catch alot on one piece this way.walleyes are in the lake but fishing for them at the old coverd bridge at the water treatment plant is realy good in spring when the season opens pike size minnows or wood warms loaded on #6 circle hooke with slider weight is very good choice.Down stream from coverd bridge is some great fishing holes there are norhter pike and tiger muskies there 6 inch white suckers are the best for these 2 heavey feeders my dad and i saw a muskie take a redwing black bird of a branch that was 2 feet of the water once. The bass fishing is good in the lake live bait around structure works well but my favorit is the popers along the west bank acrossed from boat ramp this is the old creak bed its deep and tree s from the steep hill side line the egde with structure.

The channel catfish population in this lake is good. My daughter and I usually catch 3-8 catfish per trip with two over 7 lb and one at 9 lb 6 oz, all caught by her on different trips. We let them go so they can get even larger. Some long time fishermen say there are cats above 15 lb in the lake. We are still looking for them, but they are likely there. Fishing presure is low on this lake. It is over 650 acres, no gasoline engines allowed and boats available for rent at Jim Neary's Tackle shop right on the lake. A boat ramp and storage is also available. Good numbers of sunfish too. It is a nice quite lake to get a kid into fishing. The bass fishermen (those who target them alot) do well in April and May.

Had a great day. I could only fish 4 hours and caught 8 channel catfish off of 11 bites. All fish were released, but the stringer weighed 27 lb 10 oz. The three biggest were 3.5 lb, 5 lb and 10 lb 2 0z. Can't wait to get out again.

Im 2 time catfish tournament winner Joe C. The catfishing there off the bank is amazing with 7-10 pound channel cats being abundant. Crappie fishing during the spring and fall seasons produces great numbers as well as citation fish. The bass fishing in this lake can be frustrating with the high shad concentration the bass seem to just follow the schools and eat when there hungry which can lead to giving up and fishing for other things. the recent addition of nothern pike will make things more interesting. and the occasional brown trout and walleye may be caught. also there are huge carp in this lake.
