High Point Lake Fishing in Somerset County, Pennsylvania

I took a trip up there for big smallmouth and fished from the shore for about 2 hours and i saw a couple monsters so i decided to fish for big ones i tied a Charlies megabait swimbait and on my 3rd cast i caught a 22 inch pike, later my dad had one on that we thought could be around 35 inches and it broke his line. there are fish everywhere up there whether they be bass, pike, or catfish. we did leave later but we were not in a boat we were on shore which is easy to do noiw and will be for quite sometime scine they are taking the lake down another 10 feet from now to march. they are doing this to kill off some of the weeds and some people may say why are they doing that and let me tell you it is good they are first off it is so that it helpes some of the fish species, some of the fish have been hurt by how many weeds there are, and if you saw it you would say the same thing all it is, is weeds everywhere. all in all though it was great but i next time for smallmouth i am going up in early spring
