it beats those twra lakes with about everything. yellow creek is an excellent spot for largemouth bass in the summer, along with panfish and spotted bass, and don't forget about the smallmouth. pickwick is known as one of the best smallmouth bass fisheries in north america. the scenery is absolutely amazing here, too. put in in counce, tennessee. there is a boat ramp next to sportsman's one shop on the tennessee mississippi border. for fishing in the tailwaters, sauger is great in the winter. the colder, the better. in the summer, striped bass under the powerhouse will keep you busy for a couple minutes. they average between 15-25 pounds. spotted bass will keep you busy (along with occassional smallmouth bass, panfish and catfish) are a load of fun when you fish the bank, but watch out for gar! these things are everywhere. i will also say that the current is fast in the tailwaters, so make sure your trolling motors battery is well charged. make sure you bring your net!
