pelican pond is not a lake. It is a group of privately owned artisian wells that spring up all year round. Pelican Pond is a pond that has no less than six owners as their property lines touch the other. It was listed in Field & Stream in the 80's as 3rd highest bass fishing then over-fishing occurred and it has been closed to public since the 90's. Anyone who attempts to get on the pond to fish can be expected to be shot at since landowners are expert marksmen. Public flocking destroyed the beauty of the pond with beer cans and garbage. There is no public access to the pond. Pelican Pond has since been used as a private pelican preserve with as many as 100 pelicans landing on it in its 200 year history. To avoid avid fishermen from misunderstanding the history and facts about the pond- it would be wise to post this comment everyday for about ten years to save lovers of fishing time money effort and aggravation. Thankyou- Non-pond owner who lives on Pelican Pond Road.
