This lake looks like it could be an excellent fishery. It is deep and one half of it is a large canyon wall. There are numerous ducks and geese on the lake. It is probably 40 to 50 acres but that is just a guess, however, the lake is located in it's entirety on the property of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary philosophy of not killing any living animal, including fish, is fully in force. In case you have thoughts of circumventing the wishes of the owners, which would be both criminal and unethical in itself, it would be extremely difficult to do so. In order to get to the lake you whould have to enter Best Friends property off of Hwy 89, drive through the property to a dirt road about 5 miles long that goes to the lake. This road passes no less than 5 residences occupied by the founders of the sanctuary and many of them overlook the lake itself. The road ends at not only the lake but at a spectacularly nice structure called The Lake House which is often occupied, even after hours by sanctuary employees and commands an unimpeded view of the entire lake. Further, the parts of the lake that are not vertical 100 foot high canyon walls are securely surrounded by a 6 foot fence toped with barbed wire. My suggestion is not only to respect the wishes of the sanctuary owners, but to put a big red x over this location and forget about it.
