Night Fish regularly for catfish in front of the bait shop. Walk in from the public boat ramp parking. Between 9PM & 1PM most nights will get 3-4 catfish 1.5 to 3 pounds.

My fishing buddy and I spent a number of random days fishing Burke Lake throughout the Spring-Summer-Fall of 2008. We always had a blast whether fishing from a boat or walking the shoreline. Caught a number of smallmouth bass but mostly, panfish (Blues & Suns). Many of the pans were definitely keepers and made for a number of tasty dinners.

We tried freshwater fishing at Lake Burke with our little boys, went to the right of the fishing pier along the natural trail that runs along the lake. Time was midday. Tried lures and nightcrawlers but didn't get any fish, some nibbles though with night crawlers only. But the family had fun anyway. Only one little boy at the fishing pier had a crappie. Then, there was one fellow fishing closer to the dam(?) area was said to have pulling in plenty of catfish. (From folks walking along the trail as they walked back around towards the fishing pier.) Other than that I would come back and try again. I rated it fair, cause I only been there once fishing. Will update when I go again with the family, but want to try other Lakes as well.

I rate it fair because it depends on where the group of fish is at and what bait you use. It was raining yesterday and My friend and I was just bored so we went and checked it out... There were bites and we got some smallest large mouth bass I've Ever seen. and some Black crappy and sun fish. We where using gummy with jigs. We try night crawlers but no bite at all... I've been there before. You just have to go at the right time and also be lucky to find the school or crappy or suns...
