I think this might be my favorite fishing lake. I canoe it, and almost never get shut out now, after I learned how to fish the lake. I have seen a lot of ways work. For my 7 year old it’s a great lake for just a bobber, under an inch of worm or Berkley power bait steel head worms (bubble gun). For me it’s a blue fox, usually a bright color. I am going to try propeller flies here over the Memorial Day weekend, I think. For me this is the ultimate “teach a kid to fish” lake. You DO need something that floats though, unless you enjoy bottom fishing. The campground is great, but the lake needs more trash attention and care for floating logs and such. No combustion engines so its real quiet. The eagles and Ospreys will give you a good show also. I am still looking for something over 2 pounds from this lake. I see them jump, but still want one. So, if you see a 17 foot older Coleman on the lake, say “Hi Rich!” and tell me your tricks for the lake.

More of a pond than a lake. I have completely slayed the trout here. I have never been shut out. The guys on the shore don't catch much but I limit out within a few feet of them. I don't get it. Keep moving with a panther martin. Either black and olive or yellow and red. Work the structure throughout the lake. Spinner not working? Go to the mid channel and drop a night crawler sunday to the bottom. No nibbles in 3 minutes? Reel it up 3 cranks and wait for 3 minutes more. And so on and so on... Pretty hard to miss here. Great place to take the kids for their first fish.

I've never caught any fish here, but I've seen other people do it. They stock it periodically... As far as I can tell, the best spot is off the dock.

I trolled this lake all morning with no success. I had watched fish roll about 10 yards out of reach of the back fishermen. I ancored up, and casted some powerbait with an inch piece of nightcrawler attached. I felt pressure on my line and I set the hook. To my amazement, I landed a 7lb 7oz trout, bruder stock. It was my best trout catch ever.
