I hiked to derrick, I didn't have provisions to fish but I watched the fish jump all day. they were hitting bugs, alot of dumb bees were falling in the water, it's so clear we could see the fish spot the bee and strike the surface. It was fascinating. They looked like rainbow trout, 8-12" at the shore. Some floaty thing would be optimal for the big guys. the water wash suprisingly warm, tasted good with no filter. The hike there is brutal, plan to stay the night and eat your fill of fish.
