Spencer is a open for trout fishing year around. It is stocked early and late in the season but also appears to have a native hatch. Fishing is good almost every month of the year with a variety of gear, tackle and techniques. There is public access area with a ramp and good parking.

We had a boat and drifted using power bait. Caught two 16 inch trout: one of them had unusual, bright reddish orange color stripe along its body ? Thought it might be a Triploid.
