I have not fished this lake much this year, early this season i didnt have much luck, I was just woundering if any one has any suggestions on how to catch some bass. From prior years i have caught some dandy bass out there, but i seem to need some tips this year so if anyone could help me it would be appreciaded. I know it sucks sometimes to give your secrets away, but it would be a great help to me, I could probably get some of my tips out on this forum also. Thanks

This is a great fishing lake if you know what you're doing. There is great northern fishing all year round and all over the lake. The northern like crank baits and spoons. There are some huge largemouth in there! I caught the biggest bass of my life on long lake(18 inches-really fat) right off shore. These bass will be hiding in structure close to the shore line along with small drop offs a bit off shore. Crank baits work great! My personal favorite is the "Jointed Floating Rapala". Jigs and longer bass worms are very productive also. Rig up a weedless bass worm and pitch it right in the weeds, lilies, or shore line structure and your bound to catch a nice largemouth. Hope this helps a bit for all of you Long Lake anglers! Have a good one!
