Fishing this lake has taken a multi-year leave. It used to be fair to good for expert fisherman, but is now very unsatisfactory. The lake went though an oxygen drop when it was covered with snow and ice and most of the fish were killed. The snow kept the light levels down to where oxygen was not produced enough for the fish. The larger fish died, but there are a few smaller fish up to 4 or 5 inches still left. DNR is in the process of restocking the lake with fingerlings and game fish, but this will be a few years before good sized fish can be taken. They are putting different kinds of natural bait fish in first, then some small game fish. This year a few walleye and bass up to 4 or 5 inches were put in. Contact Wis DNR for estimates of when fishing will be worth while.
