The lake is drained too many times... leaving the sport fishing VERY poor. All that is found is suckers and Carp. Not a good fishing area at all. Has not been for the past 25 years of trying. The walleye however can be found at the spillway on the river side from time to time. Along with trout, and yes.... the carp and suckers.... but the walleye are not great in size... typically pan sized, with a few larger. The lake is too beautiful to resist. I come for the beauty... and find myself trying and trying to find the great presence of fishing to coincide. I end up disappointed year after year. Wishing WY would keep more of its water and allow the angler to enjoy such a great looking park. If you like to boat and camp... this is the place. But if fishing has anything to do with your intentions... Id pass this lake by.
