Recipe for San Francisco Fish Chowder

1 tbsp. vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lg. Spanish onion, chopped
1/2 lb. mushrooms, chopped
1/2 med. green pepper chopped
1 (16 oz.) can of tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
4 med. tomatoes, chopped
1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 lg. can V-8 or clamato juice
1 sm. can minced clams (optional)
2 lbs. fish fillets (sole cod) cut up in chunks
1/2 c. dry white wine (optional)
*Chopped vegetables (celery, carrots,
zucchini, potatoes whatever you like
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. rosemary
